Brian Clayton--Assignment #5

I really wanted to use a chef hat on my character, so I searched the origin of the French hat.  It came about in mid 19th century France.  In fact, the chef "uniform," as we currently imagine it (all white with hat and apron) was instituted by Marie-Antoine Careme, who was a famous chef in France.  During this time, in France, the stethoscope was invented in order to aid diagnosis of respiratory and cardiac disorders.  It quickly became the symbolic icon of the medical profession at the time.

I was looking at  a lot of these pictures to try and figure out shoes.
