Interior Silhouettes
Kendall hale
Hierarchy - If the big picture isn't working, than the details are not going to fix it.
You just did an assignment on silhouette. Ask yourself if all of the essential information is available in your silhouette:
- Emotion?
- Gesture?
- Gender?
- Good guy? bad guy etc?
Is your silhouette is saying everything that it needs to say... than it has passed the test.
Rework, rework, rework, rework, rework until you have something good- don't polish poo!
Interior Silhouettes
- build off of your exterior Silhouettes
- Just as your exterior silhouettes should be carefully designed with BIG MED SMALL shapes, so should your interior silhouettes.
- like exterior silhouettes can be done quickly and in large quantities to try out a variety of designs.
I use the term "Interior Silhouettes" to refer to the way a design's silhouette is divided and broken up - by costume, value, lights and darks etc.
